E3 2008: Gamzsone V3's Best of E3 2008 Awards - Jonathan Cullen's Picks

LADIES AND GENTLEMAN, PLEASE TAKE YOUR SEATS AS THE SHOW IS ABOUT TO BEGIN!

Okay, cheesy and quirky but...meh. So...E3 is now over and say want you want about how crap E3 is nowadays but in fairness, we had some great games, great announcements and one nuclear bomb of an announcement.

We really hope that we could have given you the best of E3 coverage as we possibly could, especially on our YouTube channel (The rankings on the page right now show it)

So...what were the great grames shown at E3, what were the biggest announcements? Your about to find out.

To kick off, we're going to go with my choices of whats been the great games.

Best Xbox 360 Game [Playable]:

Winner - Fallout 3

Seen for the first time in public, Fallout 3 was just amazing, the gritty nature of the game in the continuing aftermath of a nuclear war as well as its sense of humor [Seen Here] plus the depth of the world, developed by Bethesda Games in the aftermath of Oblivion for the PS3 and 360, in Washington DC just make this game a big one to watch out for, it just looks unique.

And if Oblivion was anything to go by, come this Autumn, we're gonna be in for a massive treat because Fallout 3 may just be like nothing we've ever seen before in an open ended game like this (Not even Grand Theft Auto comes close to this now)

Runner Up - Resident Evil 5

Chris Redfield return's once again in Capcom's brand new illteration of the popular horror series. With the release of Resident Evil 4 in 2004 for the GameCube and in 2005 for PlayStation 2 being not only the best game of 04 and 05 for many but also being probably one of the best games of all time, people have been waiting for No 5 but at long last, the wait is [ALMOST] over.

Plus, with more and more info getting revealed more often now and with online co-op confirmed to be in the game as revealed at the Microsoft E3 Press Conference on Monday.

Come Friday the 13th 2009, you may wanna get a clean pair of knickers...actually, you may wanna get clean PAIR's of knickers.

Honorable Mentions:

- Gears of War 2
- Mirror's Edge
- Fable II
- Banjo Kazooie 3: Nuts & Bolts

Best PlayStation 3 Game [Playable]:

Winner - Resistance 2

Out of all the games shown at E3, this was the best of the lot from Sony. There maybe Killzone 2 but that aint until next February. Resistance 2 will this year go toe to toe with Gears of War 2 to see which game will win this christmas and while Gears of War 2 looks brillant, Resistance 2 would be the favourite.

After launching Resistance: Fall of Man at the launch of the PlayStation 3 last March 2007, it recieved some decent scores between 7/10 - 9/10 but now, having adjusted to the PS3 Dev Kits with Resistance 1 as well as Ratchet & Clank: Tools of Destruction, Resistance 2 looks better then its older brother and looks set to play better, I cant wait to get my hands on Nathan Hale's next adventure with an in-depth story campaign featuring Hale, a seperate story campaign for up to 8 player online co-op and 60 player multiplayer.

November cant get here soon enough.

Runner Up - LittleBigPlanet

This maybe a game where you'd think this would be for kids 6 and up in all honesty, LittleBigPlanet is for everyone but not just is it a great looking game with a cutesy look to it, it'll be the most innovitive game not just this year but also this decade.

You get to make your own game in a way with custom levels which you can upload to the PlayStation Network and let other people download. In a way, it aint Media Molocue who arent developing the DLC, it's you.

Its the cuteness of Sackboy's plus the fact that you can develop all these levels that makes this game unique. The only limit to the game is how far your imagination can go and I for one anticpate LittleBigPlanet in October.

Honorable Mentions:

- inFamous
- Killzone 2
- Mirror's Edge
- Resident Evil 5

Nintendo:

Winner - Wii Music

It's only by default that we've put any games you see from Nintendo here as there ware bare enough anything for the Wii shown, let alone stuff for the 'core gamer. But admittingly, Wii Music does look like an interesting IP from Nintendo. Yes, its not gonna be a Guitar Hero or Rock Band replacement but it does look like a very interesting game.

Shingeru Miyamoto's next project for the Wii, while nothing on Guitar Hero and Rock Band, should be an exciting prospect for the Wii.

Runner Up - Wii Sports Resort

Again, by deafult its here, but Wii Sports was very popular when the game launched with the Wii a year and a half ago. Now, the new Wii Sports will have new modes featuring Frisbee, Sword Fighting and Water Sking Plus with the prepheral WiiMotion + bundled with Wii Sports Resort when it goes on sale next year. Good times have come again with Wii Sports

Honorable Mentions:

[I'm gonna be kind to Nintendo by adding a handheld game to this list as 1 - Other then them two, it was bare. 2 - There was nothing else]

Grand Theft Auto: Chintatown Wars

Best Non-Playable Game:

Final Fantasy XIII - Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3

It was not only the biggest announcement at E3 but probably also the biggest announcement in the games industry ever/ It was the biggest and best kept secret in all of gaming and also for Microsoft, kind or ironic considering most of their surprises and announcements beforehand for the conference was leaked.

However, what would have made a destrucable nuclear bomb of an announcement would have been that it was exclusive to Xbox 360 but it remains on the PlayStation 3 (In Europe and North America. In Japan, it actually remains an exclusive for the PlayStation 3 at least for now + Final Fantasy Versus XIII remains of PS3)

None the less, while it remains un-playable at least for now, it was an announcement that delivered an killer blow to the PlayStation 3 and delievered some great news to the Xbox 360 in this "Year of PlayStation"

Honorable Mentions:
God of War III
MAG

Best Multiplatform Game:

Winner - Mirror's Edge

Simply put, it maybe getting the same amount of hype that Assassins Creed and it could be because of that hype that for some it didnt live up to, Mirror's Edge looks stunning, graphiclly and gameplay wise.

The game, mostly based on parkour, see you play as Faith, a runner who deliever's sensitive packages unable to be sent through the traditional and normal ways must try to clear her sister of a crime she didnt commit.

As much games as I'll try to be getting this Autumn, Mirror's Edge is only one of five games I'll be getting from release day (Fallout 3, LittleBigPlanet, Gears of War 2, Resistance 2 and Mirror's Edge) and it is a game I cant wait to play.

Honorable Mentions:

Fallout 3
Resident Evil 5
Dead Space
Rock Band 2

Best Exclusive:

Winner - Gears of War 2

Marcus Fenix is back and by the sounds of things from the new E3 trailer [Which you can watch here], he may just have a death wish.

But will he get it? We'll find out, Wednesday November 7th 2008, when GOW2 is released for the Xbox 360. A continuation of the story from GOW1, co-op returns, a new co-op mode called Horde where 5 players take on a horde of Locust, timeless and harder each time and 10 player 5on5 multiplayer

It goes up against Resistance 2 that November but while its possible that Resistance 2 is the favourite between the two games, Gears of War 2 should not be written off yet. As Cliff Blezenski put it, its bigger, better and more badass...this shouldn't dissapoint.

Best Game of E3 2008:

To be in this catagory, the game must have been playable on the E3 showfloor (Sorry FFXIII, your not eligable)

Winner - Fallout 3

So...Fallout 3 from Bethesda is the one I have picked as Best Game of E3. Why? Simply put for one reason. We all know Bethesda made a great game with Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and made it better with Shivering Isles but if Fallout 3 is anything + the exclusive DLC for Xbox 360 and Games for Windows, this game should not only meet the expections put so high compared to Oblivion, it should exceed them.

This game is a must buy when it comes out for the XBox 360, PlayStation 3 and Games for Windows. Bottom line: I cant wait for Fallout 3.

Honorable Mentions:

Resident Evil 5
Little Big Planet
Gears of War 2
Resistance 2

So there you have it, my list of the best of E3. Brendan and Ryan's list will be coming tomorrow but I hope this list will give you a helping hand in picking the games you get between this autumn and next July when E3 2009 takes place.

E3 2008: Sony Unveils Video Store, Launches Today in US

At last night's Sony E3 Press Conference Eric Lempel, Director of the PlayStation Network, showed off the PlayStation Video Store for the very first time.

Jack Tretton, CEO and President of SCEA, confirmed that as well as Sony (Naturally), other studios had signed up to include content on the store such as MGM, Disney, Paramount, Warner Bros and Fox.

In the demo, they showed how a download could take place with a download of a movie taking up to an hour at least depending on your broadband speed. Also, a pricing structure was announced varying for $2.99 for a movie rental and roughly around $10 - $15 for a download to keep.

As well as that, there would SD and HD movies on the store as well as TV shows although there were no TV shows confirmed at the conference. Movies shown include Cloverfield (My favourite movie this year), Walk Hard, Rambo and many more.

You can also take movies with you onto your PSP if you have a big enough memory stick and it wont cost you anything extra to do that.

Finally, Tretton wont to illiterate that the video store would be available as of today. Right now, its available in the US (I tried to see it on the PS Store via my US account but as of writing this, the Store has not shown in Europe) but it will be available in Europe and Asia before the end of the summer.

E3 2008: God of War III Unveiled

At last night's Sony E3 Press Conference, Jack Tretton unveiled God of War III for the very first time at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. He hinted it at the very start of show mentioning that a couple of other stars would be joing the Hollywood A-Listers such as Solid Snake (Metal Gear Solid), Sackboy (LittleBigPlanet), Nathan Hale (Resistance) and Kratos (God of War)

Then, just after 9:00pm BST, Tretton unveiled the game.

"Yes, its true, God of War III is coming to PLAYSTATION 3"

Soon after, a teaser trailer in CGI was shown with destruction been shown in Olympus with Kratos saying "In the end, there will only be chaos"

We have the trailer on YouTube page but here it is for you.

E3 2008: Animal Crossing Wii Announced, Includes WiiSpeak

At last night's Nintendo E3 Press Conference, Nintendo announced that Animal Crossing for the Wii was coming before Christmas called Animal Crossing: City Folk. The first gameplay footage of it was shown off alongside the creator of Animal Crossing, Katsuya Eguchi.

Also shown for the very first time was something called WiiSpeak. WiiSpeak looks a bit like a re-vised Motion Sensor bar for the Wii but is actually a microphone which will be included with Animal Crossing: City Folk and is infact the first game to include Voice Chat for any Wii game.

Animal Crossing: City Folk is coming to the Nintendo Wii from this Christmas.

E3 2008: Wii Sports Resort Announced, Includes WiiMotion+ at No Extra Cost

At last night's Nintendo E3 Press Conference in the Kodak Theatre, Wii Sports 2 was announced...but not as we know it. It'll be called Wii Sports Resort which does exactly what it says on the tin by taking a day out to a resort.

Games included are sword fighting, demoed by Reggie Fils Amie and Kammie Dunaway, water sking demoed by Reggie and Frisbee by Danaway.

They also confirmed that WiiMotion+, the new Wii prepheral which gives you more sense of control over your Wiimote and detect more motion will be included into Wii Sports Resort for no extra cost.

Wii Sports Resort will be coming in Spring 2009.

E3 2008: Wii Music Revealed

At last night's Nintendo E3 Press Conference, Shingeru Miyamoto unveil Wii Music for the very first time at the Kodak Theatre, 2 years since he played the game to conduct an orchastra.

When the game was getting unveiled, everybody thought this was building up to maybe Kid Icarus or Pikmin 3 but no, this was it. A drummer was playing with the drums in the game using the Wiimote with the bass drum being played via the Wii balance board before Miyamoto came out playing the Claranet.

Soon after, a couple of people formed somewhat a mini band to play the Super Mario theme, Miyamoto included to play a cow bell.

The game will be coming sometime next year for the Wii.

E3 2008: Sony's Press Conference - LIVE

Last year, everybody said it was make or break after their E3 2006 conference...well, they made it. Tonight, it really is make or break so much that that last year was a holiday.

After last night's stunning announcement at Microsoft's E3 Press Conference of Final Fantasy XIII, nobody is expecting them to top that...but dont write off Sony, not yet anyways.

Killzone 2, Resistance 2, inFamous, LittleBigPlanet plus more will top the bill. And its all but confirmed that we WILL see God of War III tonight along with a couple of other surprises.

Lets see what those surprises are. And dont forget, after the conference, we have one of our own. Check the Members Blog from 9:30pm.

E3 2008: Nintendo's Press Conference - LIVE

So, last night was chaotic, shocking and brillant. Chaotic because I couldnt get the first twenty minutes of the MS conference, shocking because of Final Fantasy XIII and brillant because...well it was brillant.

So tonight, its the other two platform holders Nintendo and Sony who must still be reeling after what happened last night with Final Fantasy XII at the Microsoft Press Conference. So what will we see from them tonight? We'll find out later but tonight, we'll see.

E3 2008: EA's E3 Press Conference - LIVE

Okay, as eventful and unforgetable tonight has been, we now must focus on our 2nd liveblog of the night and that is EA.

We should see some new info on Dead Space and Mirror's Edge as well as EA's own sports brand (Hence, we need Peter Moore)

But what else could we see tonight? Find out below from 10:45.

Quick Heads Up

I'm trying to get as many videos as I can on the YouTube page. That includes all the gameplay demos you seen tonight, all the trailers you seen tonight and...yes..."THAT" too.

But we also have one more liveblog to do.

EA's conference is coming to you live from 11:00pm.

E3 2008: Fallout 3 Shown Off in the Public Domain for the First Time

In the first game of the 2008 Microsoft Press Conference, Fallout 3 was shown for the very first time with a live gameplay demo.

Before proceedings started, a brand new teaser trailer was shown (An extended verison to of which is on our YouTube channel but that wasnt the full works, that'll be coming to the YT channel tonight) before Todd Howard of Bethesda Games came out to unveil the gameplay of Fallout 3 for the very first time.

He also announced that, exclusively for Xbox 360 and Games for Windows, exclusive DLC will be coming to Fallout 3 for Xbox 360 and GFW.

We shall be putting up a seperate 30 second teaser as soon as tonight as well as the full blown trailer.

E3 2008: Resident Evil 5 Confirmed for March 13th 2009 Release

In a live demo tonight during Microsoft's E3 Press Conference, the producer of Resident Evil 5, Jun Takagachi, showed off for the very first time online co-op for the game where one played will take on Chris Redfield, the other being the new character recently shown for the first time as Sheva.

Then, after the demo, Takagachi then announced that the game will be released in Europe and the US on Friday the 13th...yes, I find that scayr and ironic. Friday March 13th for US and Europe with Japan getting it a day earlier on Thursday June 12th 2009.

E3 2008: Gears of War 2 Confirmed for Worldwide Release of November 7th

Cliff Blezenski demoed Gears of War 2 tonight which showed the co-op of the game featuring Marcus Fenix and Dom Santiago. At the end of the demo, it was hinted that you could possibly ride a Brumak in the game.

After the demo, Blezenski then announced a 5 man co-op survival mode where you can take on a hoard of locust in Gears of War 2 which will get harder and harder with each horde.

Finally, he went on to announce that Gears of War 2 will ship worldwide this November 7th. Before the dmeo, a new trailer of the game was shown with Marcus going into the undeground taking on the Locust horde while taking a locust hostage.

E3 2008: Final Fantasy XIII Confirmed for Xbox 360

In a stunning announcement at the end of tonight's Microsoft E3 Press Conference, the president of Square Enix, Yoshi Wada announced to the world that Final Fantasy XIII would be coming to the Xbox 360 the same day it launches on the PlayStation 3 sometime in 2009.

After leaving the stage after talking about 3 Xbox 360 exclusive games being made by Square Enix, Don Matterick the Corperate Vice President of Xbox in his first public event since taking over from Peter Moore last year, was wrapping up the conference when Wada-san came back out and said he had "one more big announcement".

That announcement turned out to be Final Fantasy XIII. The following trailer then ensued with CGI cut scenes. However, while there were scnes from the previous 2 trailers, there were bits that were new.

Matterick then said to the stunned crowd of what they had just seen that this is just the latest entry of former PlayStation exclusives now coming to Xbox 360. Madden, Guitar Hero, Grnad Theft Auto, Resident Evil and now, Final Fantasy.

Which means that there is one more sacred grail left for the Xbox to get and that is of course, Metal Gear Solid.

But what is Sony's reaction? We'll find out tomorrow at their press confernece live from 7:00pm.

E3 2008: Microsoft's E3 Press Conference - LIVE

So this is it. Let the talk stop and let the games (whatever else which comes our way) do the talking.

Microsoft will kick off the Electronic Entertainment Expo, otherwise known as E3 2008. It aint as glamorous as one's before it but this year's E3 is set to be the biggest one yet since all of The Big 3 unveiled their consoles back at E3 2005 when Sony unveiled the PlayStation 3, Microsoft with the Xbox 360 and Nintendo with the Revolution which is now more known as the Wii.

Tonight, we will see new gameplay footage from Gears of War 2, Fable 2 and Halo Wars plus some could we finally have confirmation of the motion sensor controller the 360 will get? As well as that, heavy rumors on Forza Motorsport 3, Avatars and a new look to Dashboard.

But there is one more thing we have missed on: Bungie. They have been teasing us for so long as to what they could be doing next and now, so many internet sites have sources inside Bingie telling them that a new Halo game is going to be announced tonight. So is it gonna be Peter Jackson's Halo Project or is it...could it be...*touches wood*...Halo 4?

Find our below, the shit is about to kick off.

E3 2008: RUMOR - LA Noire to Show at Sony's Press Conference Tomorrow

Now people, hands up. Who can remember LA Noire, the game being developed by Team Bondi lead by former project lead of The Getaway (and apparently arch enemy of Phil Harrison if rumor is believed) with it being published by Rockstar Games to be released on the PlayStation 3.

None of you?

Well, you'll remember it tomorrow apparently according to Buttonmasher.nz. According to them, at tomorrow's Sony E3 Press Conference, Sony will show a new trailer of the game as well as sharing some new info on the game itself.

It'll be the first time the game will have recieved new info for the first time in nearly over 3 years.

We'll find out tomorrow when the Sony Press Conference happens from 7:30pm. If it does happen, we'll let you know first as we're livetexting everything.

Too Human Demo Now on Xbox Live Marketplace

Quick heads up guys. Too Human, the hit it or miss it game from Sillicon Knights have released the demo for it and its on Xbox Livce Marketplace as of right now.

I'll be downloading it right now and will be giving you a hands on opinion of the demo as soon as possible.

In the meantime, check out the E3 trailer which we have posted on our YouTube page.

E3 2008: God of War III All But Confirmed for E3

In a very cautious post, Social Media Manager of SCEA, Jeff Rubenstein, may have let the cat out of the bag and let slip that God of War III will be at the Sony E3 Press Conference tomorrow night

In a post in one of the blog's posts, a user gives a list of suggestions as to which they are.

-Anything from Insomniac, including footage, interviews, screenshots, etc. I just love hearing from and reading about those guys. I simply can’t get enough.
[They'll hear something from them anyways concerning Resistance 2 and maybe Ratchet & Clank: Quest for Booty]

-PSN titles that we haven’t heard much or anything about. If there are any indy developers there, seeing some of their stuff would be pretty cool.
[Pretty much a given we'll see some new stuff like we did last year with echochrome and WipeOut HD]

-Footage and other content related to RPGs.
[Well, Final Fantasy XIII is heavly rumored]

-God of War III footage and/or news? :D
[The main reason of this post]

-Hook up with some people while you’re there to maybe post on the blog some time. Naughty Dog perhaps?
[Probably to talk a bit more about their next project which is more then likely Jak & Daxter 4]

As to which Rubeinstein confirmed to which...

"I think this is all do-able."

Notice the way he said "all do-able"

That means that we will almost certainly see God of War III tomorrow and maybe as well while at it, see Final Fantasy XIII.

Either way, we'll find out tomorrow night when Sony host their E3 conference at the Shrine Auditorium from 7:30pm tomorrow. We'll be livetexting everything from 7:00pm tomorrow, just after the Nintendo conference.

E3 2008: Teaser for Fallout 3 E3 Trailer Released But Here For You to Watch

GTTV have released a 30 second teaser of what will be the E3 trailer of Fallout 3 from Bethesda Games. In it, it shows a TV advertising something called Nukacola (Or something similar) before the TV zooms out to see the Nuclear holocaust set around 1950's Washington DC before we see a man standing over a hill with a shotgun.

As well as that, on his coat, it says 101. When you start the game, the character you will be making (Something similar to Oblivion, another game Bethesda made) will be coming from Vault 101 as he comes out of it to find his missing father who will be played by Liam Neison of Star Wars and Schindlers List.

We've uploaded the trailer onto our YouTube page for you to see and the best thing is that it's in HD.

Sorry about posting this late, I've been a bit busy today with other things away from the site. Plus, I've been putting the final tweaks to our surprise which you'll see and hear about on Tuesday.

E3 2008: Half Life 2: Episode Three is Uncovered with a Concept Art

In a mini unveil, a concept art of Half Life 2: Episode Three has been unveiled to the world by Valve artists Ted Backman, Jeremy Bennett and Tristan Reidford. In the picture above, it shows a shadowy Gordon Freeman with his crowbar going toe to toe with an advisor in an enviroment which appears to be the Borialis, shown in Episode Two.

Advisor's also have a big part to play in the last 2 minutes of Episode Two but how, you can either see YouTube or play it (I recomend the latter, its a great game).

So, are Valve going back on their earlier story of not bringing Episode Three to E3 next week for Left4Dead and will infact show the game? We'll most likely see it at EA's press conference on Tuesday as EA are the console publishers for Valve's games (EA ported The Orange Box for the PS3) if it is indeed been shown off.

I really hope this does get shown off, I wanna find out what happens in this final chapter of the Half Life 2 saga for Gordon and Alyx Vance

E3 2008: Jade Raymond's Next Project Revealed: I Am Alive

Normally, when a great talent in the industry hits gold with their first game in a main role on the production team of that game, they will be keeping their eye on that person to see whats next.

So what happens if you happened to be the producer of one of the best games of last year and also happen to be one of the most beautiful woman in the industry working on a new game? Well then, you happen to be Jade Raymond, the producer of Assassins Creed and also of a new game.

And this said new game is expected to be revealed at E3 in a weeks time at Ubisoft's Press Conference (Which we will be liveblogging on Wednesday from 1am BST) called I Am Alive.

It is set to take place as a survival game as you try to survive for your life after an earthquake in Chicago. The game is set to take on a FPS perspective with no weapons (ala Mirror's Edge)

According to Gamekyo, Ubisoft will show off up to 15 minutes (20 minutes tops, give or take) of gameplay footage to be shown at E3 on Wednesday at the Ubisoft conference.

The game wont appear at E3 in playable form but it is thought it could come up at Game's Convention next month in Leipzig, Germany.

I Am Alive will be published by Ubisoft and developed by Darkworks of Cold Fear fame for the PlayStation 2 with a 2009 release being projected for the game on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC...after that, Raymond's next project will surely be Assassins Creed 2 (Depending on the success of the new Prince of Persia as half the development team working on it are from the original Assassins Creed dev team)

Good to see you back Jade, we love you!!!1!

RUMOR: Is David Hayter Finally Getting His Wish and Writing the Metal Gear Solid Movie?

Considering who and what the source is in IMDB, this could be a big fat one. But accroding to IMDB, David Hayter, the voice of Solid Snake in the Metal Gear Solid series, has been asked to do the screenplay of the movie of the series alongside Hideo Kojima who will write the movie (Apparently)

It comes after Hayter all but confirmed that he will be writing the Lost Planet movie which is very close to confirmation.

It also comes after a petition was started by a forumner on IMDB to have Hayter as a writer on the movie with Hayter personally responding it to it as well. Well, if it is indeed true, Sony Pictures, who are producing the film, have finaly found sense after rejecting his first screenplay and seen that Hayter is apart of Metal Gear Solid, game and movie.

Anything You Can Do, I Can...Equal? Premium 360 All But Getting Price Cut While PS3 40GB Price Cut is Rumored

Ltes put the cat amongist the pigeions here shall we? On Kotaku, a staff member from GameStop USA has confirmed to them and aslo shown leaked pictures of a price cut for the Premium 20GB Xbox 360 down to $299 as of this Sunday, the day before Microsoft's Press Conference at E3.

This price cut has been long rumored since the end of April when Grand Theft Auto IV came out but now, all the conformation there is for it has finally shown so you lot who live in the US who dont have a 360 cant get one for just a penny short of $300 (Sadly, no price cut for us UKian's, we had ours in March)

But the PlayStation 3 is also getting in the action. Despite being debunked by Kaz Hirai on Bloomburg Japan, Destructoid are reporting that the 40GB will get a price cut of the exact same region the 360 is getting, $299.

Despite being debunked, the exact same situation happened last year with a price cut on the 60GB of $499 just before E3 so call this one 50/50 but the 360 price cut is all but confirmed folks.

DOO TEH DOO WIT MASTIER CHEIF ON MONDAE? Well...maybe not with the Chief...

It seems now every day Microsoft are preparing a massive announcement concerning the game with the H word and it looks like Peter Jackson's Halo Project is getting unveiled (Or is it Halo 4?) and now it seems like this is becoming reality ever day.

In the special Bungie Day podcast, Kotaku copped on to what was said near the very end by Bungie's Brian Jarrad and Luke Smith (Formerlly of Kotaku) hinting at a very big announcement at Microsoft's E3 Press Conference on Monday.

"Brian: Isn't there something going on on July 14th or something like that?
Luke: Yeah, around then.
Brian: Somehow that's sticking in my head for some reason. Guess we'll have to see.
Luke: Yep, we'll just have to be patient. Who could say?"

And of course, the 14th is a Monday which is, like I said, the Microsoft Press Conference. And if t hat wasnt enough, a mind boggling teaser site has gone up on the net indicating a countdown of something massive with at 9 days on the countdown...meaning either another big announcement by Bungie next Wednesday or something related none the less

Out of the Ashes...SOON!: COUN7DOWN 7O 7HE END is the subtitle for it. So it pretty much backs up Sarcastic Gamer's rumor of a new Halo game at E3 (Most likely anyways)

Anyways, thoughts? Could we have two Halo games next year with Halo Wars (It will probably get delayed till next year) and Peter Jackson's Halo Project...or is there a 3rd? We'll see on Monday.

Firmware 2.41 Out Now for PS3 Users

As of yet, I'm still to find that.

Anyways, for you unlucky people who never got to download it, its out now and a quick mention as well to say that for anybodu who has Super Stardust HD or got Super Stardust HD after the update last week, the patch 4.00 which includes Trophys and Custom Soundtrack's has been released again after that patch was taken down due to 2.40 also been taken down.

Sessler's Soapbox: Pre-3

I love Adam Sessler. He is a funny guy you'd swear blind who has (Hell, he may even have it) Aspergers!!!

So while he aint as funny as his Soapbox's against Jack Thompson and GTA IV or his rant against racist or homophobes on Xbox Live, you can tell he's really excited about E3.

And for good measure.

Is Halo 4 to Be Unveiled at E3?

Take with a pinch of salt, some extra salt actually considering the source as they could be pulling a funny here, but according to Sarcastic Gamer, Halo 4 is in development at Bungie and could possibly be even unveiled as early as E3 in 10 days time.

They say that they have a source inside Bungie who apprarently making the game.

Yet, Bungie have wanted to move away from the series after finishing Halo 3 so how on earth is Bungie still involved? Or could it be a double bluff and it is Peter Jackson's Halo Project?

Well, we could very well find out at E3

Kojima Thinks About Metal Gear Solid 5

Please...dont. Hideo Kojima has said in an interview with Famitsu that he has to start thinking about Metal Gear Solid 5, only nearly a month after the release of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots.

"I gotta start thinking about MGS5... Even though, well, Snake's story ends in MGS4. ...About MGS5, that would be something that Kojima Productions would have to make, I think."

No, no, no!!! Now dont get me wrong, Metal Gear Solid 4 is the finest game I've ever played quite frankly but I dont Metal Gear Solid 5 for two reasons.

1 - It was finely concluded in Guns of the Patriots...however, if they can do a story similar to Snake Eater thats powerful and all, maybe it could work.

2 - Kojima's next should and is most likely to be Zone of The Enders 3 so get that out first then we'll talk.

C'mon Koj, you said at last years E3 that MGS4 really would be your last MGS game. Oh come on, decide or not.

Insomniac and Infinity Ward Not to Add Trophys

Insomniac and Infinity Ward have gone on record to say they wont patch their games to include trophys for PlayStation 3. Insomniac have said they wont patch up their games Resistance: Fall of Man or Ratchet & Clank: Tools of Destruction to include trophys as they want to finish work on Resistance 2.

As for Infinity Ward, they have said on their forusm that they wont include trophys as a patch for Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare as it has surpassed their development time cycle but have said that they will include them in future games...Call of Duty 6?

Sony Pulls Firmware 2.40 Off The Servers for Now

After complaints that the new update was in rare cases breaking PlayStation 3's, Sony have pulled Firmware 2.40 off the servers and have reverted back to the last Firmware update from a month ago, Firmware 2.36.

Sony Computer Entertainment America said in a statement last night on the PlayStation Blog:

"As has been reported on many gaming blogs and websites, we have temporarily taken Firmware v2.40 offline. We’ve received a limited number of calls from consumers experiencing an issue with installing the system software update on their PS3. While our consumer services department has seen a low volume of calls on this topic, we are committed to providing the PS3 community with XMB access features delivered in the v2.40 update. We are working diligently to isolate the problem for those few consumers and to identify a solution before we put the firmware back up."

Other then a few catche problems, there is nothing up with my PlayStation 3 yet and it seems that nothing will happen to it if you installed it right, according to Jeff Rubenstein.

"We’ve received no reports of hardware issues following a successful install."

And as for our good friends at Sony Computer Entertainment Europe? No comment however a inside source from SCEE have told Videogaming 24/7 to expect something on it soon.

Oh dear, not the best of starts is it?
